Dirty Lemon, a New York City-based wellness company, offers a line of essential daily beverages. These elixirs will improve the health of your skin and cleanse your system. We went over four of their eight beverages in our first review. We saw how we can all benefit from “drinking” our skincare products. Dirty Lemon offers healthy skin caring beverages, which are:
- CBD
- Vogue
- Collagen
- Charcoal
- Matcha
- Ginseng
- Sleep
- Rose
We took a look at the health benefits, ingredients and consumer reviews of four Dirty Lemon Beauty Elixirs. CBD, Vogue, Collagen and Charcoal.
Now what do the latter four have in store for us, and are they really worth the price? One package of six 16 oz plastic Dirty Lemon Beauty elixirs costs $65. If you’re a VIP member, that price reduces by $20. We can give them some credit, as each flavor provides high quality ingredients, such as pure matcha green tea, ginseng and a “propriety sleep blend.” This blend consists of lemon balm, passion flower and chamomile.
“Blended with a powerful combination of amino acids and antioxidants that elevate metabolism and increase fat burn throughout your day.” – Dirty Lemon Official Website
Matcha, as we all know, is ground powder that comes from green tea leaves. Many consider matcha to be an energy booster, due to its high caffeine content. However, Dirty Lemon capitalizes on this, stating that their matcha beverage makes for a healthier replacement to coffee, and is exceptional for those sluggish middays (okay, so not in those exact words, but you get the gist). Of course, matcha will sustain you throughout the day. It provides energy, vitality and concentration.
“Designed to heighten focus & alertness and deliver sustained, fat-burning energy when your body needs it most.” – Dirty Lemon Official Website
If there’s a theme here, it’s “energy boost.” As some may know, ginseng is an ingredient that can boost your energy, along with lower
cholesterol levels and reduce stress. This makes it perfect to take with you to school or work.
You may call ginseng a contradictory ingredient of sorts, since it’s also promotes relaxation, but Dirty Lemon uses this to their advantage. The sixth flavor of the Dirty Lemon Beauty Elixirs is made to provide and sustain your energy levels. They include ginseng and green tea to heighten your energy level, but also to avoid the inevitable crash that comes from most energy drinks. This is primarily thanks to L-Theanine (an amino acid) that will relax your mind so you don’t go over the edge.
“Designed to help you achieve a full night’s beauty sleep with calming magnesium, hydrating rose water and anti-inflammatory botanicals.” – Dirty Lemon Official Website
If you have trouble going to sleep, or if you endure restless nights, Sleep is for you. Ha.
Dirty Lemon’s Sleep tonic works in lieu of a combination of what they call “calming botanicals.” Magnesium and rose water also play a role. Magnesium inhibits neurotransmitters ,which allows your brain to achieve a calm state of mind. Bulgarian rose water promotes drowsiness. So when melatonin doesn’t work, reach for a bottle of Dirty Lemon’s Sleep tonic. This tonic is beauty sleep at its most modern: the triple combination of magnesium, rose water and Dirty Lemon’s sleep blend increase hydration and skin rejuvenation as you sleep.
For best results, drink it before going to bed.
“Our vegan beauty elixir designed with potent polyphenols and antioxidants to decrease stress, support anti-aging and protect against free radical damage.” – Dirty Lemon Official Website
Of all the Dirty Beauty Elixirs, this one is best for anti-aging (yes, it also improves energy). Notably, it can boost the body’s ability to fight
oxidative stress. It does this by eliminating toxic compounds and waste, according to the official website. As you know, oxidative stress (free radical damage) is an imbalance that can quickly age our skin. Another ingredient Dirty Lemon uses to fight free radicals is pure Bulgarian rose water, known as the finest rose in the world.
So the question is: Will you drink your “skincare products”? And at such a high price?
