Proven Ways to Get Rid of Dark Lips

Don’t we all love to flaunt soft pink lips? Sure, we do! But unfortunately, many women suffer from dark, pigmented lips that simply take away the beauty from their otherwise beautiful lips. How can you lighten your dark lips?

Well, there are many home remedies for that. Some of them are mentioned here.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains fatty acids that keep your lips healthy and nourished. All you need to do is apply a little amount of coconut oil to your lips and massage it with your fingertips.

Do this daily before going to bed until your lips are rosy pink.

Honey & Sugar Scrub

Add a teaspoon of sugar and honey into a small bowl. Mix it together until well-combined. Cover your lips with the prepared scrub for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.

This lip massage will not only exfoliate your lips but it will improve the blood circulation as well. As a result, your lips will become healthier and pinkier.

Pomegranate Seeds and Milk

Pomegranate contains a compound – punicalagin – which prevents the lips from getting dark, especially when you are exposed to harmful UV rays.

All you need to do is grind some pomegranate seeds. Mix them with some cream milk. Apply this mixture onto your lips. Let it sit for 15 minutes and wash off with cold water.

Do this daily for one month and your lips will become lighter and fuller.

Lemon & Almond Oil

Lemon acts as a natural bleach and toner that wonderfully lightens the skin. To stop your lips from drying out, a good moisturizer like sweet almond oil is needed.

Just squeeze out half a lemon juice in a bowl and mix it with 1 tablespoon of almond oil. Gently massage it with your finger and later, wash it off with lukewarm water.

Be consistent with any (or all) of the tips that are mentioned above and you’ll see that getting rid of dark lips isn’t so hard.
