As beauty bloggers, it’s important for us to try beauty products and discover new brands. Let’s be honest: it’s also pretty fun. At iSkinCareReviews, we put great emphasis on all-natural ingredients. This is why we only promote brands that care about what they put in their products, such as 28 Litsea or Petal Fresh.
We recently received several products from True Pure, a provider of premium hair products for men and women. They use high-quality ingredients in their hair care line that offers products to add volume, body and shine. Today, I’m going to share one of their products with you:
- True Pure Biotin Serum
While other beauty brands are focused on profits, we’re absolutely obsessed with developing our products that will give you the measurable results and reinvigorate your life. – True Pure
Health Benefits of True Pure Biotin Serum
Every lady in the office snatched up one of True Pure’s hair goodies. I immediately went for the True Pure Biotin Serum, as I know the many benefits of biotin for hair. Better yet, it’s backed by a Harvard study that determined biotin is one of the most important nutrients for the health of our hair, texture and strength. If you suffer from thinning hair, biotin can help it grow thicker and improve its elasticity (how your hair responds to physical stress, such as pulling).
I never tried biotin in a topical form, so I was curious to see its results. Obviously the first thing I did was read the ingredients. Let’s not beat around the bush: I was impressed. True Pure had an infusion of:
- Glycerin
- Organic aloe
- Caffeine
- Biotin
- Red clover
- Several flower extracts
I wondered about the addition of caffeine, because I always think of it as a dehydrator. For example, coffee body scrubs are designed to dehydrate cellulite. Yet the effects of caffeine for hair won’t dehydrate a thing. Caffeine can interact with our hair follicles and essentially change their behavior and control hair growth. As a result, caffeine-stimulated hair follicles grow faster. Now that’s pretty cool.
Personally, I look for the cruelty-free bunny in every product I buy, so I was happy to find that True Pure is cruelty free and paraben free.
My Experience with True Pure Biotin Serum
For the best results, the Biotin Serum works best after using their caffeine shampoo and conditioner.
I didn’t do that.
Instead, I sprayed a liberal amount onto my damp hair and scalp. Then as instructed, I massaged my scalp in circular motions, and although not instructed, I stroked it through my hair strands down to my ends.
Take a whiff – you won’t smell a thing. The Biotin Serum is fragrance free, which is good if you don’t want it competing with the fragrance of your preferred shampoo or conditioner.
I did this method twice for one week. That wasn’t enough time to discover the full effects of the product, but I noticed some results. After use, my hair felt more hydrated and (here’s the best part) more manageable – when I brushed my hair, my denman brush glided straight through. Their products really work for all hair types, because I have frizzled, tightly coiled hair that’s difficult to untangle no matter what product I use. Suffice it to say, I was impressed.
Serums usually leave my hair oily. The True Pure Biotin Serum isn’t oily or greasy. It’s more like water, so when you use it, your hair will feel naturally softened, but as though it’s product free.
I can’t say if it nourished my follicles, increased hair growth or thickened my hair strands. It’s way too soon to tell. True Pure recommends using this product 2-3 times a week, so I plan to stick with it two times a week and carefully observe the results. Once I do, I’ll post my verdict on Instagram.
This brand also sent us their Caffeine Shampoo, which I did use. Stay tuned for that review.
