3 Tips for the Ultimate Winter Dry Hair Routine

Like us, you must be looking forward to winter; a time to cozy up and sip hot chocolate. However, your skin and hair feel the opposite way. Winters can be particularly harsh, making your scalp and skin flaky and extremely dry. For those of you who are already battling dull and brittle hair may not find this season welcoming at all.

However, there are many ways to make sure your hair gets a good amount of nourishment and pampering even during the most terrible dry spells of winter. Here are four tips on how you can create the best hair care routine for yourself especially during this season.

1.     Commit Yourself to a Weekly Hydrating Treatment

The first step in eliminating the dryness of your scalp is to fully commit yourself to a deeply hydrating treatment at least once a week. Make a DIY egg or yogurt mask, or buy any of your favorite hair masks from the store and pamper your hair with it.

Allow the mask to seep in your hair by wrapping around a warm towel around your head. Once a week, fix a few hours to baby your hair with all your favorite hair care products.

2.     Introduce a Leave-in Conditioner

If your hair remains dry despite the efforts, then try using leave-in hydrating products. A leave-in conditioner will lock all the moisture so it won’t escape when you come out of the shower. It is especially helpful if you get extremely static hair during winters.

3.     Go Big on Oils and Serums

Winters are your chance to introduce all the moisture and hydration in your hair care routine. Hence, spare three days every week to thoroughly massage your hair with nourishing oil. Olive oil and coconut oil are perfect for dry hair and if you’re feeling fancy, you can also add in a few essential oils.

Follow these steps and make sure your hair is always moisturized to combat winter bouts.
