3 Must Try Overnight Beauty Habits

overnight beauty habits

Did you know that your skin repairs itself overnight? Yes, you read it right. There is a reason why the power of sleep is emphasized by so many doctors. When they say that your entire body works on improving itself during the entire night, they also mean the skin! Slathering yourself with a dozen serums, masks, etc will not do you much good without a good night’s sleep. It’s also a wise choice to incorporate overnight beauty habits as a nighttime skincare routine.

Without a good night’s rest and proper overnight beauty habits, you may start to develop puffy eyes, tired and dull looking skin, and a pimple here or there. This is your skin telling you that you are not getting enough rest, nor are you giving it time to repair itself.

Let’s discuss a few overnight beauty habits that can achieve bright, glowing skin in the morning. But first, set a proper time to sleep, receiving at least 7 hours of sleep. Before it’s time to hit the sack, try these three simple steps to look more refreshed.

The following are a few different types of treatments:

Face mask

The first and most important thing is to nail your face mask game. Don’t just rely on target treatments but instead look at the bigger picture. Your face is the first thing a person usually sees unless the scenario dictates otherwise, and thus it needs to be impeccable.

For that, you can have a good face mask routine set. You can either invest in a ready-made overnight face mask; some of the best are Kiehl’s Overnight Hydrating Masque and Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Masque.

However, if you are more of a DIY type of a person then go for an aloe vera and vitamin E oil mask or an almond and whole milk mask. However, do be careful when choosing your masks, make sure that they are according to your skin type otherwise they will do more harm than good.

Cuticles

These are unfortunately the most ignored sections of your skin and yet one of the most important ones. Throughout the day you accumulate dirt under the nails, your cuticles grow, and you may even slather your nails with chemically induced nail polishes as well.

Those are all well and good if you just take care of your nails. There are a lot of wonderful cuticle oils out there that you buy such as Sally Hansen Vitamin E nail oil, or you can make your own at home. After cleaning and pushing back your cuticles apply a mixture of 3 tbsp of lotion and 1 tbsp of olive oil.

Lip treatment

Chapped and dehydrated lips never look nice to anyone. This is especially true if you are planning on wearing that gorgeous matte lipstick to work tomorrow. Of course, wearing a lip balm right before applying your lipstick is a terrible idea,  so why don’t you work on them at night? After exfoliating with a sugar scrub, apply your favorite lip balm or better yet, some olive oil. If you choose olive oil, make sure to apply some honey or vaseline on top of it to seal the nutrients in.

Follow these simple overnight beauty habits and you will awaken to a more beautiful you.
