While it is fortunate that pedicure has so many therapeutic benefits, it is quite unfortunate that a professional pedicure is quite pricey. However, if you go for a DIY pedicure, you’ll never have to feel deprived off of this luxury anymore! Below is a complete guide on DIY Pedicure at home. Let’s get started!

Check List

The things you need for a DIY pedicure include:

  • Pumice stone
  • Nail brush
  • Loofah
  • Nail cleaner
  • File
  • Cuticle pusher
  • Moisturizing cream
  • Nail cutter
  • Acetone
  • Herbal shampoo
  • Lemon slice
  • A tub filled with warm water
  • Flowers
  • Honey
  • Towels

The Guide

  1. To get started, clean your nails with acetone. For hygiene purposes, cut and file them. Cut them in the shape you would like.
  2. Fill a tub with hot water and squeeze some shampoo or soap. Toss in lemon and add marigold petals (or any other flower petals).
  3. Gently massage moisturizing cream or preferably honey on your nails to soften them up. After this, soak your feet in the tub of hot water.
  4. After about 20 minutes, dry your feet and nails, and clean the nails with a brush. Use a pumice stone to remove the dead skin cells from your heels. Then, clean your nails using a cuticle pusher.
  5. To even out any discoloration, rub lemon slices on your skin.
  6. Pull out any remaining dead skin cells using loofah.
  7. Once you’re through, dry your feet again.
  8. In a bowl, mix honey, lemon and cream, and apply the mixture on your feet.
