5 Natural Face Masks You Should Use

Who doesn’t like a spa day for themselves, but the hassle of getting up booking an appointment and then waiting for your turn is a job in its self. What better than to have a spa day at home and nothings says spa day quiet like a facial. Here are 5 of the best DIY face masks that are easy to do at home.

1. Aloe Vera and Cucumber Mask

Ingredients

  • ½ a Cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons Aloe Vera

There are many different ways to prepare this mask, but the simplest way would be to utilize your blender or a food processor. However, if you do not have these do not worry. A basic kitchen grater will work just as fine. For the mask you would crush the cucumber and extract all its water and wonderful minerals, then mix the cucumber with the aloe Vera plant and apply it to your face. Allow this mixture to sit for about a half hour. Rinse it with warm water and pat your skin dry.

2. Honey Coconut Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil (virgin is best)
  • ½ tablespoon of raw honey
  • 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay

This mask uses bentonite clay to draw out impurities and toxins from your skin while the honey and coconut oil leave your skin moisturized. Leave this mask on for about 15 minutes and remove gently with warm water or a warm, damp cloth.

3. Egg White and Honey Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil, olive oil or sunflower oil

Gently whisk the egg white, make sure that it has blended well and then add your other ingredients, keep whisking until everything is combined. Using your fingers or even a clean makeup brush, apply this mask onto your face. Allow the mixture to sit on your face for 15 minutes before you rinse it off. Be sure to use warm water and then pat to dry. We know this mask may sound strange due to the use of an egg white, but egg whites are amazing for aiding your dehydrated skin as they contain a protein called albumin which helps shrink pores and lock in moisture.

4. Oatmeal, Honey and Egg Yolk Mask

Ingredients

  • ½ packet of oatmeal ¾ cup of egg nog
  • ½ teaspoon of Flax Seed Oil
  • A couple sprinkles of clove powder

Mix the ingredients together, apply and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Oatmeal and egg yolk fight oily skin, while the honey and oil moisturize the skin.

5. Coffee Mask

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Coffee
  • ½ Cup Brown sugar
  • ¼ Cup Extra virgin olive oil

In a mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of coffee and ½ cup of brown sugar. Add ¼ cup of extra virgin olive oil. Stir well until the dry ingredients dissolve into the oil and you have created a paste. Scoop a bit of the mask mixture with your fingers and gently rub it on your forehead for twenty seconds, scoop a bit more and gently rub it on your nose for an additional twenty seconds, continue applying the paste to the other parts of your face.
