Your eyes love to give away the story of your wild weekend. Leave it to your skin to pick up where your eyes left off, appearing dull and lackluster. Before you head out in the morning, take care of your eyes and your skin with a few simple steps.
For this to work, you will need:
Skin (Nighttime):
- Charcoal Cleanser
- Gel Moisturizing Mask
- Antioxidant rich Overnight Mask
Eyes (Morning):
- Natural brightening eye primer
- Cream eye shadow (a few shades lighter than your skin tone)
- Neutral eye shadow
- Light powdered eye shadow (optional)
Nighttime Skincare Beauty Fix
Charcoal Cleanser
To begin, use an activated charcoal cleanser. This is more efficient than your regular cleanser, as it does a better job of drawing out bacteria, dirt, chemicals and pollutants from the surface of your skin. We like Petit Vour’s Shamanuti Activated Charcoal Cleanser. This is a luxury company that sells non-toxic ingredients that are ethically made. Their activated charcoal cleanser absorbs impurities and gently exfoliates the skin. It’s good for all skin types and you don’t need much product to get the job done.
Gel Moisturizing Mask
After a long night or weekend of partying, it’s easy for our skin to become dehydrated. Gel moisturizing masks restore your skin with a heavy dose of moisturization. They feel good, too, leaving your skin cool and fresh. We like Lumene’s Hydration Recovery Aerating Gel Mask for an “instant boost of hydration.” After cleansing, apply a generous amount of your gel moisturizing mask and let it soak into the skin for 5-10 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
Antioxidant Rich Overnight Mask
Antioxidants in your skincare is always a plus. Different antioxidants provide different benefits, such as scar treatment, age/sun spot treatment, anti-inflammation and the reduction of wrinkles. That’s why you want to purchase an overnight mask that’s rich in antioxidants so you can receive a number of benefits. An overnight mask is similar to a face mask, but works alongside your body as it repairs itself while you sleep.
Daytime Beauty Fix for your Eyes
On its own, your nighttime beauty fix will take the weekend right off your face. But to further brighten your appearance before going to work or school, a quick morning beauty fix comes in handy.
Natural Brightening Eye Primer
The first step to brightening your eyes is to use a brightening eye primer. A product such as Ilia’s Natural Brightening Eye Primer works well. Apply this over your entire eyelid.
Cream Eye Shadow
Use a cream eye shadow that’s a few shades lighter than your skin tone and apply it along your upper lid, to the corner of the eye. Do the same thing with your under lid.
Neutral Eye Shadow
An eye shadow that’s slightly lighter than your skin tone will work perfectly. Use it in the outer crease of your eyelid. This will give your eyes an extra pop of brightness.
Light Powdered Eye Shadow
This part is optional, but if you feel you need to take your morning beauty fix one step further, apply a light eye shadow to highlight your eyebrows. It will brighten your face, but again, it’s an optional step.
Do this nighttime beauty fix for your skin and the morning beauty fix for your eyes. You’ll look as though you spent the weekend sipping tea and reading a novel.
