Unwanted body hair is something we all detest. Everyone has unwanted hair on at least some part of their body. The struggle to get rid of unwanted hair has been going on for centuries. Ancient civilizations were known to use various techniques to get rid of unwanted hair. Some of these age-old techniques were perfected and trial and error led to the modern day waxing.
Waxing has been a girl’s best friend since the past few decades. There are so many options available for waxing. You can easily choose one for your particular skin type, area and pocket. Regular use of the waxing method slows down hair re-growth as well.
We have compared two popular types of waxing techniques. You can choose whichever one suits you.
Fruit Wax
Fruit wax is made from real fruit extracts so it is rich in antioxidants. It is perfect for sensitive skin. It contains vitamins that nourish the skin and is gentler compared to other hard or soft waxes. It leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized. It is known to leave no marks, and leaves the skin feeling smooth for a longer period of time. This makes it more expensive than the regular waxes, but also worth it.
This formula is ideal for face waxing. It can easily be applied to smaller areas like the eyebrows or upper lip. These areas are quite sensitive, and since this wax has real fruit extracts, it will not leave the area feeling irritated. With fruit wax, you can do larger areas as well so it is faster than sugaring. As fruit wax is a hot wax technique, it can be a little messy to do at home.
Sugar Wax
The process of using sugar paste for hair removal is called sugaring. This paste is made from sugar or honey, lemon and hot water. These are all natural ingredients and very gentle on the skin. The mixture can be applied and removed multiple times, so it is a cheaper option than hard or fruit wax. The specialty of sugaring is that it only sticks to hair and not the skin. This makes the whole process a lot less painful. Another reason for it to be less painful is that the hair is pulled out in the direction of the hair growth instead of against it. Since it is made from all natural ingredients, it does not cause any skin problems or allergies. You can even make it yourself. The effects of sugaring last 2 -3 weeks, and if you continue using this method, it can go up to 3-6 weeks. Sugaring is recommended for the bikini line and underarms. The skin in these areas is extremely sensitive and since the mixture does not stick to the skin and just pulls the hair out, it would not cause any pain or irritation. Sugaring is also able to pick shorter hair – it only has to be 1/16th of an inch.
