Skincare is crucial, which is why we can’t afford to make too many skincare mistakes. Your skin is considered the biggest organ of your body and it is an indicator of how healthy you are internally. Though diet is important, there are still some things that you need to do on the surface to keep your skin looking supple and healthy.
It is always recommended to devise a skincare routine according to your skin and its issues if you wish to have clean and clear skin that is always makeup or camera ready.
Now, we are not the Hadids, the Kardashians, or the Jenners who have a group of the top best facialists, makeup artists, and dermatologists surrounding them at all times. We have to do with what we have. The best thing you can do is look at the skincare mistakes you are making and try to avoid them.
Let us look at some of the errors that we make in our skincare regimen that completely ruin all the hard work that we initially put in:
Not removing makeup
Though makeup can make you look stunning, it still is not meant to seep into your skin. It is supposed to stay on top for a while and then come right off. When we remove makeup using makeup wipes we think we have done enough. That isn’t so!
What you have done is removed 20% of the makeup. You will need an oil-based cleanser to really break through the makeup. Then use a toner once you wash your face so that the remaining makeup is taken off.
Not washing enough
We are often told that if we wash our face too much we will strip it of its natural oils. While that is true, it still does not mean that you shouldn’t clean your face at least two times a day. The dirt and the oil will promote acne and dull your skin.
Exfoliating too much or too little
Exfoliating your skin is always useful in giving it a naturally radiant and glowing look. This activity will help remove the dead skin cells that have been accumulating on your face for days. However, exfoliating too much will remove the natural oils of the skin that are required for a youthful looking skin. In short, too much exfoliation can age your skin.
Massage
A facial massage is much more important than we give it credit for. It will help stimulate the blood flow and cell metabolism. This helps reduce wrinkles and gives you a more youthful looking skin. We’re adding this as one of the many skincare mistakes because youthful skin is what we all desire. Massages help you achieve this. If you don’t want to spend the money on a professional facial, do it yourself with a jade roller or twin ball massager.
Water and sleep
Yes, you are busy. Sure, you have a lot of work. But that doesn’t mean that you get to skip out on adequate water and sleep. 8 glasses of water and 8 hours of sleep are both important if you wish to stay looking 21 even in your 50s.
Water hydrates the skin; lack of water will dry out the skin. You may not know this, but when you sleep your body LITERALLY repairs itself, and this means your skin. So, drink enough water to keep the skin fresh, and sleep better to give your body a break.
If you wish to have good skin then it is best that you try to avoid all the aforementioned mistakes. There will certainly be a time when you feel great in your own skin and never worry about unwanted breakouts.
