Many of us tend to find our dark circles as one of the worst facial features. They make us look tired, dull, and unapproachable all the time. These dark circles usually appear due to lack of sleep, stress, environmental toxin, and many other things. The skin under the eyes is delicate and thin, and these stress factors tend to reveal the blood vessels thus giving off a dark discoloration under the eyes.
There are a lot of cream and serums out there that tend to claim they will help you get rid of those annoying circles under your eyes, but very few of them actually get the job done. Additionally, many of them don’t deliver the results that you desire but they also come with a lot of side effects. This is exactly why we suggest using home remedies, such as our DIY turmeric eye cream.
Though they take a little longer for the results to show they still are much safer than those eye creams and serums.
When we talk about home remedies and lightening of dark discoloration, turmeric is often one of the first ingredients that come to mind. Turmeric has been lauded as a skin lightening agent since the ancient times. Early Indians and other Asian countries would often use turmeric for medicinal and beautification reasons. This turmeric eye cream is perfect for troubling dark circles.
Turmeric is a plant that originates from the ginger family in South Asia. It often cultivates in warm and tropical climates where there is plenty of rainfall.
The rhizomes of the plants are harvested, dried, and pended till it becomes fine powder which will reveal a yellow gold color. Other than the reduction in the face pigmentation turmeric treats burns, repairs free radicals, and also makes the texture of the skin soft and supple.
How to make the DIY turmeric eye cream
You will need:
Fresh limes and turmeric powder for this simple and easy to make turmeric eye cream. It is best to buy the powder from an organic food store which is free from all the harsh chemicals that can threaten to ruin the skin under the eyes, which is extremely delicate.
Mix the turmeric powder with lime juice and then apply it under the eyes. Make sure that the paste is thick and not runny which will make it difficult to apply otherwise. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with water.
You can also mix the lime juice and turmeric powder paste with natural oils such as coconut or olive for a better effect. The oils will cancel out the harsh effects of the lemon and make the paste go easy on the skin.
Of course, you cannot expect the paste to take effect immediately. You will have to apply the paste regularly for 15 minutes in order to see proper results.
