Using face and hair masks has become a necessity for most people. The reason for this is that these masks make people feel pampered. Since this is the case, it is important to be aware of a few ingredients that have multiple uses. Ingredients that can be used on the hair and face, and still give incredible results.

To make things easier for you, here are the top ingredients that you need to be using on your hair and face:

Eggs

Eggs are known as super foods because they are rich in protein. Not only are they great for your health, they can make sure your hair and skin become healthier. The high levels of Lutin in eggs make it a great ingredient for hydrating your skin and making the elasticity better, while the protein richness aids in repairing the tissues.

DIY Masks for Hair

  • You will need to crack 2 eggs and add 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Mix it well and start applying it to your hair (scalp first and then the length). Let it stay on for 30 to 45 minutes before washing it off.

DIY Masks for Skin

  • You will need to separate 2 egg whites from their yolks and beat them up before adding 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. After you mix it well, apply it on your face, especially on the areas you have large pores. Once it dries, wash it off with lukewarm water.

Yogurt

Yogurt is essential for your hair and skin. It is known as a natural hair conditioner, it makes the hair softer while taming the frizz and it maintains the pH levels of your scalp. In addition, yogurt is an ingredient that is suitable for all skin types. It makes the skin supple, glowy and soft. It is a natural moisturizer, it lightens the skin, it makes the skin tone even, and clears blemishes.

DIY Masks for Hair

  • You will need 4 tablespoons of natural and fresh yogurt mixed with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. When the ingredients reach a paste consistency, you can begin applying it your scalp and hair. Let it stay for 30 minutes, wash it off, and shampoo your hair after an additional 30 minutes.

  • You will need:
    1. 2 tablespoons of gram flour or rice flour
    2. 3 tablespoons of natural yogurt
    3. 1-2 teaspoons of honey
    4. 4-5 drops of any essential oil
  • In a bowl, add the honey, yogurt, and flour. Add in the essential oil and mix until it becomes a paste. Apply it on your face and hands, and keep it on your face for 20 minutes. Once it begins to dry, start removing it in circular motions with moist hands. This way you will be gently exfoliating your skin as well.

Honey

Made by the hard work of bees, honey is used to fight bacteria, aging, and it moisturizes the skin. Therefore, it is important to have honey as it has enzymes and phytonutrient antioxidants that are essential for your skin. The nutrients in honey give the hair a beaming shine. The antioxidants and enzymes in honey make the skin hydrated and nourished while it cleanses it.

  • You will need one tablespoon of raw honey mixed with two tablespoons of coconut oil. Once it’s mixed well, begin applying it to the bottom of your damp hair, working your way to the top. Let it stay on for 30 minutes and then wash it off.

DIY Masks for Skin

  • You will need two tablespoons of raw honey mixed with one tablespoon of baking soda. Wash your face with water and then begin rubbing this mixture onto your face in circular motions. Once you have done that, wash it off.
